TryStack, the OpenStack Sandbox…now on ARM!
Powered by two of the industry’s most disruptive technologies, OpenStack and ARM, TryStack, together with a collection of ARM-based hardware sponsors, is now providing free access to a dedicated OpenStack Zone powered by Calxeda’s EnergyCore ARM-based processors. Built exclusively for the server market, these new processors provide unmatched performance-to-energy efficiency perfect for scale-out cloud infrastructures. It’s a giant step towards building “green clouds” for the Internet-connected world.
Who’s It For?
To collectively enable an ecosystem of ARM partners focused on the cloud computing market, the new TryStack hosted ARM zone is intended for both ISVs and data center customers interested in porting and testing software applications, integrating OpenStack tools targeted at the ARM-platform, and validating the simplicity of building OpenStack clouds on Calxeda’s EnergyCore architecture.
How To Join?
Signing up is easy and free! Just join TryStack’s Facebook group to get started. Once approved, look for a message within the Facebook group for instructions to request access specifically to the new ARM zone. We will work as quickly as possible to approve all requests and get back to you as soon as possible. After that, you’ll have login credentials to the OpenStack dashboard where you can launch a new instance of Ubuntu 12.04 just like you would with any other cloud platform! See how easy (and familiar) it is to host a webserver (a full LAMP stack!) or compile your custom code (check out the GCC compilers!).
