Project Knockout: Power Hungry Servers Take it on the Chin!On January 16, Calxeda announced a parntership with Avnet and unveiled “Project Knockout,” Calxeda’s ARM-based contribution to the Open Vault project, both at the Open Compute Summit (held January 16-17). Calxeda was honored to be featured in Open Compute Project Chairman Frank Frankovsky’s keynote address, and to show some of the industry’s first “Knox” board designs in our booth. Calxeda Systems Are Shipping!We are pleased to open our first monthly newsletter with the news that the first servers based on Calxeda’s innovative EnergyCore technology are shipping. HP has been installing Redstone systems in their Discovery Lab since July and began shipping systems to customers for evaluation in August. Boston, Ltd., also began shipping Calxeda-based systems in July. But that’s not the only news from Calxeda this month. …read more |
